I was overwhelmed with joy when I heard that I was one of the 40 testers for a new pattern from Straightgrain. An designed a sleep sack, not with a zipper in the front but on the side, so you can show off your cute fabric in one piece! This comes in handy when you've got baby's and toddlers of your own or when you're invited to a babyshower! This fast-finish project is definitely a must have for sewers! The pattern is available in three sizes: 0-6 months, 6-12 months and 1-2 years.
Because my daughter Nel is 1.5 years old, I made her the biggest size. She's even taller than the two year olds at her daycare, and it still fitted!
I used a Tilda fabric that I had lying around for a while. I like this fabric so much that every project I ever made, I pulled it out, but then eventually switched to another one later on. But this time it felt like it was meant to be.
I sewed the sleep sack with light blue piping and buttons and tried to match the drawing in the fabric.
Moreover, Nel wasn't the only one who slept in a new sleep sack. Her little doll 'Noeke' got one as well...
By the way, isn't it scary how the both of them look alike? Not only are their looks quite similar, the funny thing is that this doll starts crying when you take away her pacifier, just like our little dramaqueen...
